Karen McElroy is naturopath, medical herbalist and mind-body counsellor who has been in private practice for over 23 years. Originally trained in Melbourne, Karen has lived and worked on the beautiful Sunshine Coast for the past 15 years. Aside from working with patients, Karen also runs workshops on a range of topics, has lectured in tertiary settings for many years, writes professional articles and has spoken at conferences both in Australia and overseas.
Karen has always been fascinated by the interface between science and spirit and has studied a range of modalities that incorporate a more holistic and energetic paradigm of health. Anthroposophy is one such area that has been an inspiration for her for many years, and the ideas and philosophy of Rudolf Steiner continue to influence her understanding of the human being, the nature of disease and the dynamic role that lifestyle, mindset, spirituality and natural medicines play in promoting optimal health and wellness.
Karen is a Foundation Member of the Anthroposophic Naturopaths Guild and contributes to the promotion and support of its administration and vision.
Karen is also a member of the Australian Anthroposophic Medicine Association and the Complementary Medicine Association.
